Professor John-Michael Kaleikini

Professor John-Michael Kaleikini is one of the select few black belt professors personally awarded by Grandmaster Relson Gracie. With nearly 30 years of dedicated training, he brings authentic Gracie Jiu-Jitsu techniques, values, and self-defense strategies to every class.

He also holds black belts and instructor certifications in American Kickboxing, Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Dutch Kickboxing, and Ginástica Natural.

Professor Kaleikini fosters a welcoming, disciplined, and growth-driven environment for all students.

Professor Chet Quint

Professor Chet Quint is a seasoned martial artist with over three decades of experience across Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Taekwondo, Goju Ryu Karate, and Muay Thai.

His journey has taken him from Professor Pedro Sauer’s school in Utah to training full-time in Brazil, and later leading Gracie China’s expansion in Beijing and Shanghai.

At Gracie Ormond, he emphasizes authentic technique, discipline, and a deep respect for the art’s core values.

What is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)?

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling and self-defense martial art. It’s both a competitive sport and a practical self-defense system. At our academy, you’ll learn striking, takedowns, grappling, submissions, and sport BJJ structure.

Do I need prior experience to start training?

Nope! Everyone starts somewhere — and we love helping beginners find their footing on the mats.

What should I wear to my first class?

Flexible workout clothes are fine for your first class! No baggy clothing, no shoes on the mats.

Do you offer trial classes?

Yes! We offer a free trial class to anyone interested in learning REAL Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. You’re also welcome to visit our Friday Open Mat at 7:30 PM.

Is Jiu-Jitsu safe for kids?

Absolutely! Kids build confidence, fitness, friendships, and valuable self-defense skills through Jiu-Jitsu — all while having fun.

Is your academy welcoming to women?

Definitely! We are proud to offer a supportive, respectful, and empowering environment for women to learn real-world self-defense skills and develop confidence through Jiu-Jitsu. All skill levels are welcome — no experience necessary!
